How do I renew only my domain when hosting is on the same invoice?

You can renew only your domain, without renewing the hosting plan, even when both are on one invoice. Sign in to your account, open Domains, choose the domain, then select Contacts & renewal. Scroll to Renewal & transfer and choose Renew domain to start a separate domain renewal. You can also open a Billing/Payments ticket and ask us to split the combined invoice so you can pay for the domain renewal only. Changing the Auto-renew setting does not complete a manual renewal.

Renew the domain yourself

  • The account owner must place the renewal. If you use an invited login, ask the owner to follow these steps.
  • 1. Sign in to your account. If you use more than one client account, select your account name at the top of the portal. Under Switch client account, choose the account that owns the domain.
  • 2. Open Domains in the client portal navigation. Find the domain you want to renew and select its name to open the domain details.
  • 3. Select the Contacts & renewal tab. Scroll down past the domain settings and contact details to the Renewal & transfer section.
  • 4. Choose Renew domain. This opens a Renew your domain form in the cart. Use this route for a domain already in your account. You do not need to register it again or start a domain transfer.
  • 5. In Registration period, choose how many years you want to renew for. Check the selection and choose Add to cart.
  • 6. Review Your cart and Order summary. Check the domain, renewal period, currency and total. Remove any hosting plans or other items you do not want included in this purchase. Then choose Continue to checkout.
  • 7. On Review your order, choose your Preferred payment method, read and tick the terms-of-service agreement, then choose Create order & continue. Follow the payment instructions for the domain-renewal invoice.
  • 8. After paying, check the invoice status under Bills & Payments (Bills on mobile) and return to Domains to check the domain's expiry date. If payment or renewal is still being checked, ask us to confirm it before paying again.
  • The Auto-renew setting is separate from Renew domain. Changing that setting is not the same as completing a manual renewal payment.
  • If the section says Online renewal is unavailable for this domain, use the billing-ticket steps below.

Ask us to separate the combined invoice

  • 1. Open Bills & Payments (Bills on mobile), select the invoice containing both domain and hosting charges, and note the invoice number and domain name.
  • 2. Open Support, then choose New Ticket.
  • 3. Select Billing/Payments as the department. Use a subject such as Separate my domain renewal from hosting.
  • 4. In Message, include the invoice number and domain name. Tell us that you want to renew the domain only, and ask us to separate its charge from hosting. You can use:
  • Please separate the renewal for example.com from invoice #123456. I want to renew the domain only, not the hosting plan. Please confirm which invoice I should pay.
  • 5. Choose Open ticket. We will review the invoice and tell you which invoice to pay for the domain renewal.

What happens to the original invoice and hosting?

  • You can use the manual domain-renewal route without paying the combined invoice first. Do not also pay the combined invoice for the same domain renewal. Tell us if you renewed separately so we can check the original invoice and avoid a duplicate domain charge.
  • Renewing the domain does not renew or cancel your hosting plan. If you are stopping hosting, let us know separately. Your website and hosted email still need hosting; keeping the domain registration alone does not keep those services running.
