How do I reset or change my cPanel password?
Your cPanel password opens your hosting control panel. It is separate from your client portal password. Ordinary mailbox passwords are separate too, but the default system mailbox uses the cPanel password. From your hosting service, try Log in to cPanel, or choose Access & billing, then Open control panel. In cPanel, look for Password & Security, or Account Preferences then Change Password in newer interfaces. Follow the available form. If you cannot open the panel, a required current password is unknown, or the option is missing, ask Tech/Server support. Resetting your client portal password does not reset your cPanel password.
First, check which password you need
- Your client portal sign-in opens your account with us. Your cPanel sign-in opens the hosting control panel. An ordinary mailbox has its own password; the default system mailbox uses the hosting account credentials. Reusing the same password does not link separate sign-ins.
- For a forgotten client portal password, use the password-recovery option on our Sign in page. For an ordinary mailbox password, open Email Accounts in cPanel, select Manage for that mailbox and update its password, or ask support. Neither route resets the cPanel password.
If you can open cPanel
- 1. Sign in to your client portal and select the account that owns the hosting service.
- 2. Find the service on the dashboard or in Services. Use Log in to cPanel when shown, or open the service, select Access & billing, then choose Open control panel.
- 3. In cPanel, look for Password & Security, or Account Preferences then Change Password in newer interfaces. Follow the fields shown for your new password. Some interfaces require the current hosting password. Opening cPanel through the portal does not reveal that password.
- 4. If the form requires a current password you do not know, or the password-change option is missing, ask Tech/Server support. Do not keep changing your client portal password to try to fix cPanel access.
If you cannot sign in directly
- Use only the control-panel address supplied for your hosting service. If its cPanel sign-in page offers Reset Password, follow the recovery steps using your hosting username and the contact email for that hosting account. Finish the reset in the same browser where you started it. Availability depends on the hosting configuration.
- If Reset Password is not shown, the recovery email is inaccessible, or the panel reports an error, sign in to the client portal, open Support, choose New Ticket and select Tech/Server. Tell us the hosting domain, service name and exact problem. If you cannot sign in to the portal either, use the Contact page.
- Never include your existing or new password, recovery code or complete secure-login link in a chat, ticket or screenshot.
