Why are emails from my website or contact form not arriving?

A contact-form success message does not prove that its email reached your inbox. Check the intended recipient and spam folder, then use cPanel → Track Delivery for messages sent through our hosting server. Your website's sending settings are separate from your mailbox sign-in. Ask your website maintainer to check the form's recipient, approved sender and sending service before changing DNS or installing another mail plugin.

Check the destination and scope

  • Confirm the email address that should receive the website notification. Ask your website maintainer to compare it with the recipient saved in that exact form. A spelling error or an old destination can affect one form while the rest of your email still works.
  • Open the intended inbox, including its spam or junk folder. For email hosted with us, sign in to your account, choose Services → Log in to cPanel → Email Accounts, find the full email address and choose Check Email. For external email, check the inbox at that provider.
  • In Email Accounts, check Storage: Used / Allocated and Restrictions for a cPanel mailbox. If ordinary incoming messages also fail, follow our email troubleshooting guide before treating it as a website-only problem.
  • Record the page address, recipient, time and exact form message from the failed attempt. Do not repeatedly submit an order, payment, booking or customer request to test email: it may already have been recorded even though its notification is missing.

Look for the delivery result

  • In cPanel, return to Tools, open Track Delivery, enter the intended destination in Recipient Email (optional) and choose Run Report.
  • Find the matching date and time. Read Result, use Show Blocked & Failed to narrow failures and open the information action for the matching message. Keep the useful error text with private message content hidden.
  • A rejected result can name the reason for refusal. A deferred result means delivery is still being attempted. A successful server result does not prove inbox placement; check the destination's spam folder and any recipient-side rules.
  • No matching result does not prove that the form never ran. The site may use an external sending service, may have failed before handing over mail, or the record may no longer be retained. Ask the maintainer which service handles this website's outgoing mail and check that service's delivery evidence instead.

Ask the maintainer to check sending settings

  • Have the maintainer confirm the form's notification recipient and the service used to send mail. Keep a copy of the current settings before changing them. WordPress forms and mail plugins have different controls, so do not copy settings from an unrelated plugin or another hosting account.
  • Use a sender address on a domain you control and that the chosen sending service authorises. A visitor's email address belongs in the form's reply-to setting, rather than being used to impersonate the visitor as the outgoing sender.
  • For a mailbox-based SMTP connection, obtain that mailbox's settings from cPanel → Email Accounts → Connect Devices. The mailbox password is separate from your WordPress, cPanel and account passwords. For a separate email service, use the settings and credentials supplied by that service.
  • Ask the maintainer to check SPF and DKIM for every service that sends for your domain. Do not replace working email records or add a second SPF record to clear one warning. Mail routing changes also need to match the provider that actually receives your domain's email.
  • After an identified fix, agree one harmless test with your maintainer using an address you control and a form that cannot create an order or other consequential action. Check both its delivery result and receipt in the intended inbox. Do not install a second mail-sending plugin over an existing setup as a first troubleshooting step.

Send us the useful details

  • Open Support → New Ticket, set Department to Tech/Server, choose Priority and enter Subject and Message with the website and form URL, sender, recipient, date, time with timezone, exact error and whether ordinary mailbox email works, then choose Open ticket. Name the sending service or mail plugin if your maintainer has identified it.
  • Include a relevant delivery result with private message content hidden. Do not send mailbox passwords, API keys, full mail headers containing private information or customer form submissions. We can check the hosting evidence without those secrets.
