Why is my checkout or invoice total different from the advertised price?

Check the selected plan, billing period and currency first. Then review Your cart and Order summary for add-ons, setup charges, discounts and tax. The payment page separately shows Payment processing fee, Total due and the amount the selected online payment provider will charge. If the difference is still unexplained, ask us to check the quote or invoice before paying; do not place a second order to try to correct it.

Compare the same plan and period

  • Check the exact plan and the period described beside its advertised price. A monthly equivalent and the amount charged for an annual purchase are different figures. In the cart, review Billing period and the period listed against the item.
  • Confirm the currency. Signed-in checkout uses your selected client account's currency. Changing the public website's display selector does not change that account. See our account and cart currency guide.
  • Check whether you are comparing an initial offer with a later renewal or a new purchase with a plan-change quote. Do not assume an initial discount continues at renewal. For an existing service or domain, open its Overview and check the renewal details. Ask us about any unclear future charge before committing.

Review the cart calculation

  • Open Your cart and check every item, selected configuration and Optional add-ons. Review the component amounts under each item, including a setup charge shown for a selected option. Use Edit to correct a selection or Remove to delete an unwanted cart item before ordering.
  • Under Order summary, compare Subtotal, Discount, Tax and Total. Read the coupon or automatic-offer message. An expected discount is not confirmed until the calculation shows it.
  • A free or discounted domain offer applies to the domain charge described in that order. It is different from account credit and does not prove that later domain renewals are free. Read our hosting domain-offer guide to check that selection.
  • Before sign-in, tax and account currency still need confirmation. For an upgrade marked Tax: Confirmed on invoice, review the final invoice tax and balance before payment. Do not treat a before-tax quote as the final payment amount.
  • Check any Available account credit, Expected credit applied and estimated balance shown. The invoice confirms the credit actually applied and the remaining balance; do not deduct it a second time yourself.

Check the invoice and payment method

  • In Billing, open the invoice and review its items, currency, total and balance. Choose Pay invoice to review payment options; you can check the amount without confirming a payment.
  • The payment page shows Payment processing fee and Total due. For an online method it also shows the amount the selected provider will charge. Read those figures before continuing. Do not assume a particular method is free of fees.
  • After changing Payment method, choose Review updated total and check the new amount before Continue to secure payment. This review step is not a completed payment.
  • If the amount is still unclear, open Support → New Ticket, select Billing/Payments, put the invoice number or plan in Subject, and explain the expected and displayed amounts in Message. Include the billing period, currency and offer you were comparing, then choose Open ticket. Before you have an account, use Contact for a quote question.
  • If you already paid, include the payment reference and ask us to review the difference. Do not pay again or create another order while the result is unclear.
