How do I connect a domain registered elsewhere to my hosting?

You can keep your domain registered with its current provider and host the website with us. For a new hosting order, choose Use my existing domain under Use a domain and enter the name. For hosting you already have, first check whether the domain is its main domain or needs adding in cPanel. Then point the website records to the correct hosting address, preserving the records used by email and other services. A domain transfer is not required.

Use your domain in a new hosting order

  • Open Shared Hosting or UltraFast Hosting, review the plan and choose Choose plan.
  • In the plan configuration, open Use a domain and choose Use my existing domain. Enter your complete domain in Domain name, without https:// or a page address. Review Billing period and the selected options, then choose Add to cart.
  • Review Your cart and Order summary. This choice uses the domain for hosting without ordering a registration or transfer. Choose Continue to checkout, check Review your order, agree to the terms and choose Create order & continue. Check the resulting invoice and service status after payment.
  • Keep renewing the domain with its registrar. Hosting billing with us does not renew a domain held elsewhere.

Prepare the website on existing hosting

  • Open Services in your account, select the hosting and check its main domain. If it already matches the domain you want to use, do not add the same domain again.
  • To add a separate website, follow our guide to adding another website. It shows cPanel → Domains → Create A New Domain, the Registered Domain choice and how to check Document Root (File System Location). A separate site needs its own folder; sharing the document root makes both domains use the same website files.
  • Upload or migrate the website into the correct folder before moving visitors to it. Adding the domain to a hosting account does not copy an existing website or its mailboxes.

Point the website and protect email

  • Find which provider currently manages the domain's DNS. Registration and DNS can be with different providers. Save a copy of the current records and identify the website, email and other services they connect.
  • Confirm the hosting address for this specific service before editing DNS. Do not guess an IP address or copy one from another customer's example. If you need us to confirm it, open Support → New Ticket, select Tech/Server, give the domain and hosting service in Message, then choose Open ticket.
  • To keep DNS with its current provider, follow our DNS record guide to update the website records there. Preserve the MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC and other records used by existing email services.
  • If you are moving DNS management to our hosting nameservers, first prepare all records needed by your website, email and other services at the new DNS provider. Then follow our nameserver guide at your registrar. Changing nameservers affects the whole domain, not just the website.
  • After the change, test the main website address, www, HTTPS and email sending and receiving. See how DNS changes spread and how to check SSL. Keep the old hosting and email working until you have checked the move.
