How do I register a new domain?

Open Domains, enter the name in Domain or brand name and choose Search. Choose Register beside an Available result, review the domain and Registration period, then choose Add to cart. Continue to checkout and pay the resulting invoice. An available search result, cart item or paid invoice does not by itself confirm completed registration. Check the domain's Status in your account under Domains.

Search for the name you want

  • Choose your currency before adding a domain. For an existing account, checkout uses that account's currency; the website's display selector does not change it. Read our currency guide if the selection is wrong.
  • Open Domains. In Domain or brand name, enter the complete name, such as yourbusiness.com, then choose Search. Check the spelling and extension carefully.
  • An Available result has a Register action. Choose it to open the domain configuration in your cart. The displayed price is for the period described beside it; review the selected period and total in the cart before ordering.
  • A Registered result is already registered and offers Transfer. A transfer is for a domain you own and want to move to us. It is not a way to buy someone else's domain. Try another name for a new registration, or use our transfer guide for your own existing domain.
  • If the result says Try again or Check, registration has not been confirmed. Use Retry or Check again as shown to repeat the availability check, or search for another name.

Configure the registration

  • In the cart, check Domain name and select Registration period. Complete any extra registration fields the form requests for that extension. Do not enter placeholder ownership or contact information.
  • Review Domain privacy and how privacy works. The form includes the privacy control for supported domains; privacy does not replace accurate registration details.
  • Open Nameservers · optional. Keep the default nameservers for hosting with us, or enter the nameservers supplied by the DNS provider you intend to use. All domains in one order use the same set. Ask us before combining domains that need different nameservers.
  • Choose Add to cart. Under Your cart and Order summary, check the exact domain, number of years, currency, charges, tax and total. Use Edit to correct a selection before continuing.
  • Domain registration reserves the name through the registry. It does not create a website, copy website files or set up mailboxes. Add the hosting you need separately; for an existing website, plan its move before changing DNS.

Complete checkout and check the result

  • Choose Continue to checkout. Sign in or create your account when prompted, and check the selected client account if you use more than one.
  • On Review your order, check the final selection and Preferred payment method. Read the terms, tick I have checked my order and agree to the terms of service, then choose Create order & continue once.
  • Follow the invoice payment instructions and check the payment result. A created order and a paid invoice are separate from completed domain registration. Do not place the same order or pay again while a result is unclear.
  • Open your account, then Domains. Find the domain and read its Status. Select the name and open Overview to review Status, Registration type, Expiry date and Renewal price.
  • Follow any registration-contact verification instructions sent for your domain. If the domain is missing, remains pending or has a failed registration message, open Support → New Ticket, select Domain, enter the domain, order or invoice reference and exact message, then choose Open ticket. For an uncertain payment, use Billing/Payments instead. Keep the existing order while we check it.
